It is very common for people from a sexually broken background, who have lived in sexual sin for an extended period of time, to experience an ongoing craving for sex, and inability to stop having sex and experiencing ongoing internal impure thoughts, no matter how hard they try to stop. If I am one of those, who have proven to myself over and over that no matter how hard I try, I am not able to turn away from sexual sin consistently, is there hope for me?

Dealing with an addiction is never easy, but always worthwhile. Dealing with sexual addiction might be the difference for you between being able to sustain a healthy family life and losing it. It might make the difference for you to sustain an authentic relationship with God and living as a defeated Christian (even while you might be perceived as a committed Christian by others). Addictions share one thing in common - they rob us of everything we used to hold dear, and over time deliver destruction instead of the fulfilment they promise. The sooner you acknowledge to yourself and to God that you are addicted to sex, the sooner you can turn your back on the way of destruction and start moving on to real and lasting freedom. The message of Christianity ultimately is really good news for those who acknowledge their sin and allow God to set them free.
